RCS England Members and Fellows recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours

Several members and fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England) have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours for their outstanding contributions to healthcare, education and patient care. 

Among the surgeons and dental surgeons honoured are: 

  • David Martin Wright, Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, who has been awarded a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to children and young people.  
  • Pundrique Radheyshyam Sharma, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, who has been awarded a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to children and young people.  
  • Urshla Devalia, President of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry, who has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to children’s oral health.  
  • David Henry Felix, formerly Dean of Postgraduate Dental Education and Director of Dentistry at NHS Education for Scotland, who has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to dental education and clinical training.  

Responding to the honours, Tim Mitchell, President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, said:

“Their dedication and tireless service exemplify the very best of our profession and highlight the remarkable commitment of healthcare professionals across the country. It is inspiring to see the extraordinary contributions of our colleagues recognised at such a prestigious level.”
