ICBSE release 2022 MRCS Part A exam timetable
21 Dec 2021
The Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations (ICBSE) has released a new statement on the 2022 exam timetable for the MRCS Part A.
There will be two MRCS Part A exams in 2022, on the following dates:
- Tuesday 10 May 2022
- Tuesday 13 September 2022
From May 2022, the MRCS Part A exam will be in-person with a test centre approach. There will be test centres available to candidates both in the UK and Ireland, and internationally. ICBSE and the four surgical royal colleges will provide further information in early 2022 so that candidates are sufficiently prepared.
You will be able to book the September MRCS Part A exam via our website in 2022.
To ensure continuity of training, the May exam will only be available via manual bookings for Core Surgical Trainees (CT1) and equivalent run-through trainees (ST1) based in the UK or Ireland. If you are currently a CT1/ST1 and you would like to apply for the May 2022 rescheduled MRCS Part A examination, please email your National Training Number (NTN) with ‘CT1 Application’ in the subject line to MRCSsupport@rcseng.ac.uk before 28 January 2022. No further action is required at this stage.
If you have any questions at this time, please refer to the ICBSE's FAQs about this announcement.
Candidates who are affiliate members with RCS England and book their MRCS Part A and B with us will be eligible for our First Four Membership Package.
