As your professional body, supporting you to advance surgical care is at the heart of what we do. We think it's important that we keep you up to date with the work we do on your behalf and how we spend your membership fees. Our 2018 Impact Review demonstrates some of the recent impacts we've made. In the last financial year we continued a number of projects that directly impact upon patient care, including:
our Surgical Trials Initiative which helped to deliver improved care to thousands of patients
- lending our expertise to build sustainable, partnership-based and capacity building projects in Low and Middle Income Countries;
- our Chole-QuIC project which used quality improvement methods to get eligible patients their urgent gallbladder operation quicker.
Key to our work is supporting our members to drive the profession forward and advance surgical care. Through our SAS, Women in Surgery and Careers and Membership Engagement forums, we work with you to stay relevant.
