Council nominations are open for 2022

04 Jan 2022

Represent your colleagues. Stand for College Council.

Joining RCS England Council is an excellent opportunity to represent your profession and make a positive change for surgeons and their teams across the UK and beyond.

The past year has been momentous for the College. We released the Kennedy Report and its subsequent Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan, developed our Sustainability in Surgery strategy, lobbied government on our New Deal for Surgery, launched our new five-year strategy and opened the doors to our transformed home of surgery.

Our Council members play a vital role in this work. Last summer we welcomed Nuha Yassin and Christopher Lavy to the team, and this year we have the opportunity for five more surgeons to work with us on our strategic priorities.

You could help us to tackle current issues, make vital improvements to surgical careers and transform surgery for the future. We need applications from a broad and diverse range of surgeons, to ensure Council represents the breadth of voices across our profession.

All surgical fellows and members will have now been contacted by Civica Election Services regarding how to nominate themselves for Council.

If you would like to nominate yourself for one of the five available vacancies we encourage you to find out more about the election process and complete the nomination form before Tuesday 1 February 2022.

Good luck!
