Women in Surgery (WinS)

During your years in medical school and in your training to date, you will hopefully have met successful women surgeons. However, there are relatively few women currently in surgery when compared to other medical specialties.

Women in Surgery (WinS) is a national organisation working to promote surgery as a career for women and to enable women who have chosen a career in surgery to realise their professional goals.

Our WinS resources will provide you with invaluable information, advice and networking opportunities to help you develop you career. If you would like to speak to women who have experience in surgery about your career aspirations or concerns, you can join our WinS directory.

Often, meeting women who are in the same position as you, or who are slightly senior to you in the career ladder can help you feel more confident in your career choice. WinS hosts a number of networking events you can attend, and we can also provide sponsorship if you would like to organise this kind of event yourself.
