CEO & Executive Directors

As CEO of the College, I lead a £34m organisation with 310 staff. I am responsible for strategy, operations, finance, governance, risk, and external relations, working with Trustees and executive leaders to advance surgical standards and improve patient care.  

I am proud to lead the College through recent transformation, strengthening the College and its influence. My focus on delivering results, growing membership, advancing inclusion and improving patient care. I am deeply grateful for the commitment of our dedicated volunteers, whose expertise and generosity make so much of our work possible.  

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, John, and our two adult children, keeping active through running, fitness, and volunteering. 

I lead the College's External Affairs & Engagement team, covering membership, communications, marketing, customer experience, policy, research, and quality improvement. Working with a multidisciplinary team, I strengthen engagement with members and support the College's influence and impact. 

I'm proud of the team's work to strengthen the College's voice on issues affecting surgery and improve member engagement. I'm looking forward to launching the College's new strategy and brand, and building even stronger connections with our members. I enjoy taking on new challenges and believe some of the best ideas come from listening to and learning from others. 

I enjoy running, travelling, exploring new places, and seeking out great food. Having completed the London Marathon, my next challenge is HYROX. 

I look after the finance, data, digital & technology, business development, philanthropy, estate management, and programme management office departments. This is a diverse and highly skilled team of over 50 people generating income and supporting the systems and infrastructure of the College.  

As a team, we've delivered transformational systems projects and are now turning that into improved customer experience and timely, accurate, and insightful reporting, leading to data driven decisions and better engagement with staff, members, customers, and donors. 

Outside of work I'm a meditator, runner, language student, and martial artist.

In my role, I lead the College's People, Diversity, and Governance functions. I also oversee museums, libraries, and visitor services. 

I want to drive strategic change and excellence in people, culture, and governance across the College, while enhancing visitor experiences, public engagement, and sustainable income.
