RCS and the cosmetic surgery review
29 Dec 2013
Commenting on Bruce Keogh's review of the regulation of cosmetic surgery, Professor Norman Williams, President of the Royal College of Surgeons, said:
‘This review puts the College in a central role overseeing training and setting standards for cosmetic surgery. This is a start to addressing concerns about unqualified practitioners engaged in this work including some overseas surgeons operating in the UK. We can now finally set clear standards for training and practice to ensure all surgeons are certified to the same standard irrespective of where they are trained.’
