RCS past President Professor Norman Williams recognised in New Year's Honours List

In response to the recognition of Professor Norman Williams, past President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in today’s New Year’s Honours List, Miss Clare Marx, President, Royal College of Surgeons said:
“I am delighted that Professor Norman Williams’ hard work and dedication towards advancing the safety and care of surgical patients, improving surgical research and the standards of the profession has been recognised by this year’s New Year's Honours list.
“I am lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Professor Norman Williams and have seen first-hand his passion and drive for improving outcomes in surgery, encouraging greater transparency in the NHS and driving the profession forward. It is good to see that at a challenging time for the NHS, Professor Norman Williams’ tireless work as a dedicated colorectal surgeon, and President of the Royal College of Surgeons has received the public recognition it deserves.
