ST3 and Beyond
Specialty training is the final stage of surgical training before obtaining your CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) which grants you entry to the Specialist Register, and allows you to practise as a substantive consultant surgeon in the NHS.
It is highly competitive, and will require you to take on more responsibility for the learning, experience and skills that will make you an effective surgeon.
Throughout your specialty training, you will face a number of decisions about your future career and how you work. This section provides information on all of your options with tips on how to make the most of your training.
In this section you will find information on:
- Career planning for specialty trainees
- Surgical training curriculum
- Flexible training
- Specialty training review (ARCP)
- Specialty trainee courses
- Time Out of Programme
- Women in Surgery (WinS)
- Useful career resources
