Event Overview

COVID-19 Q&A webinar series

Join our President, Professor Derek Alderson and members of the RCS council for our new COVID-19 Q&A webinar series. The outbreak of COVID-19 has created an unprecedented challenge for our health service. Over the coming weeks surgeons and surgical teams, alongside every doctor, nurse and health or care professional, will be facing increasingly difficult challenges. This webinar series will provide a platform for discussion and feedback on how the surgical workforce is coping with the pandemic.

Following the popular inaugural broadcast, our next free webinar on Wednesday 1 April will particularly focus on issues relating to training and progression during the outbreak of COVID-19. RCS President Professor Derek Alderson and RCS Chief Executive Andrew Reed will be joined by Bill Allum, RCS Council member and lead for the Improving Surgical Training pilot.

They will provide you with the opportunity to ask any burning questions and raise any key issues regarding the effect of the COVID-19 on a variety of topics including:

  • Recruitment into both Core and Specialty surgical training
  • The postponement of the MRCS exams and its impact on progression
  • Rotations and the impact on service at this challenging time
  • ARCPs and much more!

If you have any questions for the President in advance, please get in touch with our events team

For those unable to join on Wednesday, the recording will be made available on our COVID-19 webinar page.
