The Royal College of Surgeons of England invites you to the Starting Surgical Practice in the NHS Conference at our London HQ and online on Friday 13 September. Expert speakers will share valuable insights on how to step into the next phase of your professional journey with confidence and take advantage of the many opportunities available to you.

The conference will include four main sessions on the following:
Succeeding in your new role: How to effectively work in a team, develop your personal skills and tips for your first five years in your new role.
The Wider NHS and you: A deep dive into the wider NHS structure and function, developing new sustainable services and dealing with complaints.
Your career and wellbeing: How to cope with changes and avoid issues like burnout and how to find a solid support network at work.
Next steps – beyond your first 5 years: How to implement new techniques and discuss what you can do outside your clinical career.

This full-day event also includes a networking breakfast and drinks reception for all in-person attendees.

This conference will be accredited by RCS England and award up to 5.5 CPD points. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option will be available. Through our events platform, you can access talks and network with delegates and speakers, sharing your views and questions.
