National Careers Week 2021

National Careers Week is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. We are taking part in this year's national campaign to inspire and inform the next generation of surgeons. Follow the RCS England Instagram account so you don't miss any of this year's campaign!

What makes a surgeon?  

Visit the RCS England Instagram to see videos from our National Careers Week campaign with top tips for different career stages from medical student to consultant, from surgeons who have navigated each one. These videos show a highlight reel of each standard career grade on the UK surgical training pathway and the dental surgery pathway. 

While these videos cover the standard pathway, there are many different ways to become a surgeon, including becoming an SAS surgeon. Visit our careers support page for more information and resources on all careers in surgery.

ASiT Conference

Ahead of the annual ASiT conference, we hosted a special virtual evening event that aimed to answer the important question 'why we do what we do'. Thank you to all who tuned in to hear stories from surgeons with a range of experience and knowledge to be reminded why you chose to follow this career path.
