Ways of working
At the College, we support flexible ways of working, believing hybrid arrangements are the future. We want our people to collaborate to find the best ways to do their best work. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion means ensuring every voice is heard and matching individual, team, and College needs.
- We advocate hybrid working, with a mix of remote and office-based working. At least one day per week (or the monthly equivalent, pro rata for part-time staff) should be spent on-site to promote collaboration and interaction.
- We don't work to set core hours; we allow maximum flexibility for individuals to do their jobs within the working day.
- Individuals seeking reduced working hours, compressed hours, or other formal flexible arrangements can submit requests under our Flexible Working Policy.
Your responsibilities
We ask that individuals are contactable on College platforms during agreed working hours, actively participate in fostering a collaborative team culture both remotely and on-site per the minimum requirements.
Your line manager's responsibility
Our managers champion hybrid working arrangements, fostering trust and responsibility within teams. They are responsible for collaborating with individuals and groups to determine optimal location and scheduling based on different needs.
Special consideration
In agreeing working patterns, special consideration may be given for accessibility/health issues, care responsibilities or long commutes. Appropriate working patterns will be decided case-by-case.
College building
Our dynamic College building is a comfortable space where members and staff from across the organisation can collaborate. In addition to desk space and meeting rooms, we have quiet booths, touch-down points and collaborative working areas. There are break areas on the office floor, and we provide free hot drinks, free cereal and complimentary fruit on a weekly basis.
We also have multi-use quiet spaces, showers and changing rooms, personal lockers, bicycle storage, and foldable bicycle lockers. In the female toilets, we provide free period products. Our café on the ground floor is available for all to use, with a 20% discount for staff showing their passes.
For the health and wellbeing of our staff, we have trained first aiders and mental health first aiders.
We have a partnership with AccessAble which helps make the building as accessible as possible, making an inclusive environment by providing all users of the building with the information and insights to our facilities ahead of their visit.
